Growing up I loved bugs, playing in the dirt, anything that put me out in nature - I had many friends but one day when I was a little older I realized that I related more to my friends who were boys than my girlfriends.
I distinctly remember this realization and wanting know if this was “normal”, so I asked my mom.
Her response changed my life!
I asked her if I was weird, for being more like the boys in school. She said:
“You are not strange.
You're not weird.
You are very UNIQUE."
Being about eight years old, I was not 100% sure what “unique” really meant - but it felt POWERFUL to me.
I would dance around singing, “I am unique! I can do anything. I can be anybody!"
My INDIVIDUALITY BECAME MY SUPERPOWER, and I wore “unique” like a magic cape!
This word empowered me and really kept me going.
I believe that words hold a lot of force, they give us power and they have an energy.
If you are using a word constantly, something negative, you need to STOP using it.
**Words become our reality.**
For example, if you say “I’m too old to do this or that thing” or “I’m not strong enough to do this on my own” - these things are not true, but you’re MAKING them TRUE by saying them.
You are giving these negative thoughts and feelings POWER by saying them.
Instead, I want you to shift your words into positive ones. Turn a negative THOUGHT into a POSITIVE POWER. “I can do this” “I am strong enough” I am enough” “I’m going to change my life”
If you use words positively, it can really change you. It can change your life.
