My Dad was right.
Back about 40 years ago, my dad gave me a piece of advice and taught me a major life lesson. This piece of advice is something that helped me to be who I am.
When I was in high school, I thought I knew a lot of things, and I thought my life was great. I had a plan for where I was going and knew I would go to a great college, get the greatest job and then travel all over the world, and have freedom.
But, I just didn't know, that this freedom also requires lots of responsibility.
So when my Dad asked me what I wanted to do in the future, and I said, well, work for a big company and make lots of money, and travel all over the world, and live in different countries.
My dad looked at me and said, “Well, you have to understand being free means you have to be responsible.”
It took me a long time to fully embrace and fully understand the meaning of that.
But, what I can say is that the more you feel responsible, and then the more you create the life you want, with that responsibility you enjoy freedom more.
I definitely love being free, but I definitely enjoy being responsible too.
Because if I don't have any responsibility at all, I can't be free.
There are two sides to each coin, we cannot take what we do not give.
More of what you can learn from my Dad’s sage advice in this clip.
